Shimano T47 is a newer standard with the dimensions of a PF30 bottom bracket shell, but with threads substituting for a press fit. This bottom bracket allows you to install Shimano and other 24mm diameter thru-axle cranks into a T47 shell. There are 2 versions: Standard and Coated Bearings. CeramicSpeed Bearings come installed in cups and are connected through the shell. Both have super round CeramicSpeed Balls and hardened-steel races. The CeramicSpeed Coated Bearings have an additional attribute: a 3-micron thick metallic layer over the races. This addition makes the races harder and smoother, lowering drag and increasing life. Pressfit 30 T47 is a standard created by custom frame builders in the United States. Its threaded, has an inner diameter of 47mm, and is 86mm wide. It has the design benefits of being oversized and wide, but also the practical benefits of threads. This kit pairs those bbs with 30mm spindle cranks. The cups have CeramicSpeed bearings pressed in. There are two bearing options. The Standard Bearing has CeramicSpeed Balls and hardened-steel races. The Coated Bearing has the same balls running on a 3-micron thick coating placed on top of those hardened-steel races for greater durability and less friction still. The CeramicSpeed coated Bearings feature an even longer lifespan and even lower drag. Life increases by 60% and drag drops by 50% compared to our CeramicSpeed Standard Bearings. Applied to the bearings at the factory is All Round Grease. It can be replaced for lower drag TT and Track Grease, or higher durability LongLife Grease, which adds a bit of drag but stays in when riding through messy conditions.
