The Mico stool is created by first outlining the form in thick rattan tubes, thin rattan is then woven over the frame in a linear way to create the finished piece. The rattan is binded with sanded peel for an authentic, strong feel. This particular design took 6 months to perfect. Using rattan weave over the top of an iron frame has its advantages, it looks amazing, It is very durable and it honors ancient Indonesian traditions. Although the Mico collection is designed for interior use, rattan is often outdoors as well, due to the qualities it possesses. The overall form of the Mico collection is very modern with a Danish twist.
